About

On safari

We travelled in minivans with roofs that could be raised. When there was something to see people could stand up and look out and take photographs.

Dirt roads like this criss-cross the plains. Drivers are in radio contact and alert one another to lions, elephants, giraffe, anything that's less numerous than the many varieties of ubiquitous antelopes. This is good because your chances of seeing lions, etc. are improved, but there's always a small traffic jam around these big animals.

One day we travelled west and south to the Mara River and stood on the border of Kenya and Tanzania.
